Barack or HIllary?

The election of the candidate for the democratic party in the U.S is all over the news these days. Probably, the next democratic candidate will be the next president of the States, as the republicans suffer Bush's catastrophic policy results. As well as the rest of the world still does. Now we are all hoping that the U.S citizents make the right choice of president, at last.
In my opinion, the right choice would be senator Barak Obama. He seems to be a man with heart, who also is capable of managing foreign affairs in a more constructive way than Bush . As a Greek, I also know that he is very close to the Hellenic nation and the Hellenic community in America. So, for that and for many other reasons, he would be my choice, if I could vote in the States.
Hillary on the other hand could also be a good president but another Clinton in power seems too much to me. People should have the chances they deserve, apart from political families. And senator Obama seems to fulfill the dreams and expectations of many people in and outside the U.S. as a man who can govern with vision through humanity and peace.

Barack Obama represents the hope of a nation. His eloquence, empathy for the common man, vision for the future, and ability to bring people together toward a common goal are characteristics that we, as Americans, should be seeking in a president.

There is a huge difference between Obama's campaign and Clinton's, integrity being the most significant. Clinton's is approach is to win at all costs. Obama understands the cost of winning. Clinton's group rallies to the call,"Yes, SHE can." Obama's group rallies to the call, "Yes, WE can." Obama understands that he will be lifted to the presidency on the shoulders of those who believe in him. Clinton doesn't seem to care on whose feet she tramples.

Policy-wise, there are many sites out there that outline the differences in the two. (See barackobama.com & hillaryclinton.com) However, the bottom line is that it really does not matter what policies they push right now. Our wise Founding Fathers understood the Human Nature and created a system of checks and balances. Whatever the president wants to push, (s)he will have to run it through the House of Representatives and the Senate.

Currently, the concern of moderates is that, if a democrat is elected, it will be an easy ride for any bill, much like the spending that occurred during the W years. Why? Because our House and Senate are dominated by the democrats. W was able to push so much spending because the House and Senate were dominated by Republicans. At that time, if you weren't with W, you were against him, and therefore not a patriotic American. People were vilified for speaking against the current administration. In many ways, it reminded me of the horrid McCarthy period in our history.

In any case, the bottom line is that the US is in need of a person with character, not a person who is a character. We need a person who overcomes the superimposed divides of previous generations to bring our nation together for an unparalleled future. Americans need a future of possibility, not an endless era of fear. We need resolution in the Middle East and to renew our ties with the rest of the world. To my mind, there is only one person who is capable to changing perceptions by bringing people together. I voted for Barack Obama.

I totally agree. Noone could have said it better than you Kate. People around the world also hope, that Barack Obama will terminate once and for all Bush's aggressive and unfair foreign policy.

It is true that Barack Obama represents the hopes of millions of pacifists worldwide that US foreign policy will turn from an imperialistic force (so called peace-keeper)to an ethical society which shall promote the values of protection of the enviroment. help to third world countries. erase hunger etc
I'm not very convinced that these expectations will be fulfilled since some 40 % of the members of Obama's team of closests advisors consists of people regarded as hawks of the american foreign policy including M.Allbright herself.
It seems that some things do not... change at all
