The hellenic pontian genocide. Rememberance day.

19th of May. This date is set for the world to remember a crime that took place almost a century ago. The genocide of half a million Hellenic people that lived in the area of Pontos on the coast of the Black sea from the Turks.
It was a crime similar to the Armenian genocide and the holocaust, which cries out for recognition. It is crucial for neighbouring states like Greece and Turkey to resolve these historical matters once and for all. The turkish government thinks that the recognition of such crimes that took place in the past is humiliating. However, civilised people tend to think that acts of recognition for acts like these are a sign of peace and civilised thinking for neighboring states. Noone accused Germany for apologising about the holocaust. Thus, Turkey should see that the entry in organisations like the E.U suggests that they should act like civilised states and accept what all other europe does.
